 The North Hampshire Downs Benefice Prayer

“Oh Lord, our God, thank you for our neighbouring Parishes.  We pray for the people of Greywell, Herriard, Mapledurwell, Nately Scures, Newnham, Long Sutton, Odiham, South Warnborough, Tunworth, Up Nately, Upton Grey and Weston Patrick.  We ask that you open our hearts to one another and so open our eyes to your Kingdom revealed in our Benefice. Amen”

The North Hampshire Downs Benefice (NHDB)

The NHDB was formed in June 2008 when 7 parishes and 12 village churches were brought together in one Benefice.

As a Benefice and as part of the Church of England, in the Anglican Diocese of Winchester, we believe in an open and inclusive church trying to reflect the openness and love of Jesus Christ, where everyone is welcome in any of our churches and to any of our events.

This open, inclusive approach is reflected in the Baptism and Marriage policy across all our churches.

There is a Leadership Team consisting of Clergy, Readers and an Administrator. Our Ministry Team Enabler and Administrator is Mrs. Linda Scard. linda.scard@btinternet.com 

The aim of the Benefice is to ensure a vibrant and open Church presence in each of our 12 villages, with a particular Clergyperson responsible for each particular church or group of churches.

At the same time we combine for those events which can be more effective when done together.
